Uriash Pukingnak
Inuit artist
Uriash’s brother Louie Qingnaqtuq and his father-in-law Nelson Takkiruq are well-known carvers. His sister, Mary Porter, makes wall hangings and his other brother, Leo Hummituq, is a jewellery artist. His wife Lorraine is also an artist, as is their son Wayne. Uriash is the Mayor of Gjoa Haven and a founding member of the Kinqunik Artists’ Society.
